English 12 focuses on mastery of the MN English Language Arts gr. 11-12 benchmarks for reading, writing, speaking, listening, media literacy, and language. Students will deepen their critical thinking, analysis, argumentation, research, and writing skills in preparation for college and career level reading and writing. Students will study collections of more complex texts from seventeenth-, eighteenth-, nineteenth-, and early-twentieth-century seminal U.S. documents and foundational works of American literature including those by American Indians and other diverse cultures.
