Social Studies
Our world is smaller than ever. People, goods, and information travel at speeds only dreamed of in earlier generations. In order to be successful in our new global marketplace, students must have an understanding of the people that inhabit our shared Earth, both past and present. The social studies department at Johnson High School has worked hard to design classes that expand and enlighten student thinking. AP and College in the Schools courses are also offered at all grade levels to challenge our most gifted students. The College in the Schools US History Course is particularly tailored to students considering science or engineering studies at the U of M Twin Cities- it will save them from six credits! Johnson High School has been serving the east side since 1916 and counts a governor, US Representative, and a US Supreme Court Chief Justice among our alumni. Check out our course list and come explore the world with us!
