Social Studies Courses

The Johnson High School Social Studies Department offers courses to introduce students to the world around them, both locally and globally. Students are required to take two semesters of World History, two semesters of Human Geography, two semesters of U.S. History, one semester of Economics, and one semester of U.S. Government before graduating. Johnson students also have the opportunity to earn college credit through Advanced Placement (AP) classes as well as College in the Schools (CIS) classes through the University of Minnesota.

All students must take 4 years of required Social Studies courses. There are also a number of Social Studies electives available for students to go beyond the requirements. Click on the links below to go to the course choices.
