This course is designed to be an extension of the skills and knowledge established in Beginning Painting. The students will continue to explore and apply rules of color theory, value, and composition to create more artistically expressive paintings. The contribution of diverse cultural and historical paintings will be examined as part of our study of the evolution of painting in art history. Tempera and watercolor paint will be the media used throughout the Semester. The students will also learn about a variety of painting surfaces that can be used with these media. Students should expect a fun but continually challenging experience.
