The "Govie Guide to Getting it Done" is filled with timely information that will help all student make it to graduation fully prepared and have lots of fun along the way. Get Involved- Fall sports teams start BEFORE school starts. Please contact the athletic office early in August if you are interested in joining a team. If you wait until school starts you will miss weeks of practice, some games and some sports may also be full. Fall sports include: Girls Soccer, Volleyball, Cross Country and Tennis and for Boys Soccer, Football and Cross Country. You must register and have a physical on file (good for 3 years) in order to play. The athletic office will help you get registered and find a place to get a sports physical.

Cap and Gown Information- Fill out the link on your classes Schoology group to ensure there is a cap and gown that fits you in June.
Senior Shirts- There will be many opportunities for you to wear your senior shirt this year (every Tuesday, Senior Only events, Senior Panoramic, Senior Class Picture for the cover of the Commencement Program for graduation) but only one opportunity to order a shirt. Don’t miss out, check Schoology for details but don’t forget to order by the deadline!

FAFSA Night - Are you interested in going to college one day but confused on how you're going to pay for it? The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is here to support you in that! Every year around the month of January, Johnson will host an annual FAFSA Night where students and families can come learn about the application and also complete the process! This will definitely help you pay for lots of your tuition and you don't want to miss this opportunity!

Senior Class Picture - Wear your Senior shirt and be in the picture that will be on the cover of the commencement program for graduation. Check your class Schoology group for the specific day and time.
Senior Honors Night - Seniors Honors night is an event where the staff at Johnson High School recognize seniors for all of their hard work over the last four years. Everyone can attend this event however students receiving an award will be sent an invitation. Please look for the invitation in your email.
June
Seniors Last Day - Senior Meeting, Picnic and Cap and Gown Distribution. Make sure you are able to attend and spend one last day having fun with your classmates at the senior picnic and getting your cap, gown and tickets for graduation. In order to get your cap, gown and tickets you must have your passport filled out. This is also the last day to have your stole approved.
Only pre-approved Identity/Cultural adornments (stoles, ect) and awards that are received at Senior Honors Night are allowed to be worn at graduation. Stoles are optional and are purchased at the expense of the senior/seniors' family. All stoles must be preapproved. No stoles will be approved after the seniors' last day of school. Per the school district you cannot decorate your cap.
Graduation Rehearsal - Attend rehearsal so that you know what to do at graduation tonight! You must provide your own transportation to and from rehearsal. Make a day of it, after rehearsal go out to brunch with your friends one last time “during school”, then hang out before you have to get ready for the ceremony. Graduation Ceremony - This is a free ticketed event (you must provide your own transportation to and from the event). Each student gets a limited number of tickets and every guest (no matter the age) must have a ticket to enter, sorry there are no extra tickets. It will be streamed so that those that can’t make it can still watch. Sorry, there are no extra tickets. Please go to: https://www.spps.org/families/graduation for more graduation information.
