I've been teaching at Johnson High School since 2000. Since starting at Johnson I have been lucky enough to be able to create new courses, Forensics (Crime Scene Investigation), SPC Biology and CIS Anatomy and Physiology, which I am very excited to be able to teach to my students. Not every school has the opportunity to offer unique courses like this. I teach a wide variety of courses, which gives me the opportunity to have some students in my classes more than once. I also have the wonderful opportunity to co-advise the Junior Class Board which coordinates the Junior/Senior Prom and the Senior Class Board which coordinates senior events such as Senior Honors Night and Graduation.
Outside of school I love spending time with my family and friends. I enjoy playing volleyball as well as coaching my son's soccer team and helping with the Marching Band. In the summer my family and I spend a lot of time in the pool, playing in our backyard or out on an adventure.
My goal as an educator is to encourage and promote a positive learning environment while encouraging my students to get excited about “doing” science, learning science and having fun.
