Digital resources
Ebooks Minnesota is a collection of free ebooks for all Minnesotans. Languages include English, Spanish, Hmong, Karen languages, Somali, Ojibwa, and more! Ebooks Minnesota for Schools is a special compilation featuring only K-8 books. Both collections contain fiction and nonfiction titles in a wide range of subjects. To access languages other than English: from the home page, choose "eBooks," then under Advanced Search, choose "Language" to see the languages available.
Read-alongs are ebooks with accompanying audio--to access MackinVIA, students can download the app from Self Service, search for Johnson High School, then Log In with your S# and password. Under "Explore," choose Read-alongs.
Libby
Libby offers ebooks, audiobooks, and magazines, including materials in Arabic, Somali, Spanish, and more! Students can download the app from Self Service and use their Library Go info to login. Ask Ms. Osborne for more info!
Databases
Encyclopedia articles on a variety of topics with multimedia resources, adjustable by reading level.
Modules include Biographies, States, and American Indian History in the PebbleGo Next (3-5) tab. Informational articles, ready-made activities, and literacy supports including read-along audio and word-by-word highlighting.
