I am a passionate and dedicated mathematics educator with over 17 years of experience teaching a wide range of math courses. I graduated from the University of Minnesota Duluth with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics, concentrating in Statistics and Actuarial Science. I then received my Master of Education degree in Mathematics from the University of Minnesota. I bring both a strong academic foundation and a deep love for teaching to the classroom.
While working as a full-time educator, I also spent 10 years working part-time as a firefighter/EMT for the city of Roseville. This unique experience in emergency services has shaped my approach to teaching, helping me cultivate a calm, problem-solving mindset and a strong sense of teamwork in the classroom. I am currently teaching Emergency Medical Responder Prep, a course designed to help students who are interested in pursuing a career in emergency medical services.
In addition to my teaching career, I have been actively involved in coaching at Johnson, having led both varsity badminton and freshmen football teams. My coaching experience highlights my ability to motivate students and work collaboratively to achieve goals, whether on the court or in the classroom.
I am committed to fostering a positive and engaging learning environment where students not only grasp mathematical concepts but also develop the confidence and critical thinking skills that will serve them well beyond school. With a unique blend of academic expertise, real-world experience, and a dedication to student growth, I strive to inspire and challenge students to reach their full potential.
