"What does a social worker do?" Clinical Social Workers do many things, and as a woman, mama, nana, learner, advocate, artist, educator, and nurse, all of these parts and more are what social workers do! I have been in SPPS for nearly 14 years as a special educator and social worker and working in education and our broader community for over 40 years. I have a passion for nurturing relationships and engagement, supporting mental and physical wellness, focusing on racial and cultural equity, finding joy in making a difference each day, and working alongside students, families, and our school community to make growth and change for each individual and for all of us. At school, the mental health and wellness, and social emotional learning are at the core of each action, each day.
