Shannon Kearney

Hello! I have been teaching at JHS for the past 13 years, but have been teaching in the St. Paul Public Schools for 25 years. I have spent most of my teaching career teaching English, but now also teach AVID (Advancement Via Individual Advancement), as well as serve as the AVID Coordinator at Johnson. I taught middle school for many years, but have found my true love of teaching high school students. Though I was born in Minnesota, I grew up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I earned my B.A. in English form Cardinal Stritch College and my M.A.s in English and Teaching from the University of St. Thomas. In my free time, I love to read and travel and try to do as much of both when I have free time and breaks. I love teaching at Johnson, love my students, and look forward to a great year learning together!
