Tchr - Mathematics, CTE Work Based Learning

I have been at Johnson Senior High Aerospace Engineering Magnet since 2003. I have taught a wide range of math classes, but my main content area at Johnson has been Freshman Focus, Junior Frameworks and Senior Finale. These classes help students transition to high school and learn about how great Johnson is, while also helping students make plans and build skills for after high school. In each class, students look at the many options to gain work and academic experiences they have access to while at Johnson. These experiences push students to explore and grow through opportunities for leadership, professional skills development and doing projects that impact the world around them.

My hope is that students in my classes gain real-world experience and have access to anything they need in order to go into the world as confident individuals. My teaching philosophy is creating a safe space for diversity. I want to fully support the diversity at Johnson that includes race, ethnicity, religion, country of birth, spoken languages, LGBTQ+ identities, and Indigenous background and tribe associations.

During my free time, I enjoy being with my husband and 3 kids. I like to read, crochet and watch K dramas.
