Staff profile

Hello! I am Crystal Kammerer and I have been a social studies teacher at Johnson since 2011. I teach mostly human geography at the general and Advanced Placement level, Law and Justice, and Personal Finance courses.

While in high school, I had a memorable teacher who brought civics and history to life. He inspired me to become a teacher and hopefully bring my passion for social studies and learning to the next generation of students here at Johnson High School. My favorite part of teaching East side students is expanding their global awareness.

I obtained my bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and have a Master of Arts in Teaching from Hamline University. As a geography nerd I love to travel. I’ve been to five of the six inhabited continents, and hope to visit the last one (Australia!) sometime soon. When I’m not traveling, you’ll find me hanging with my husband and two children, golfing, or watching my favorite team: The Minnesota Vikings!I
